Ravel (verb):“to separate a knot, mass of threads, etc. into a single thread or threads.”
Ravel (noun): “something tangled, or an unsolved problem.”
We've chosen the name "Ravel" because it describes what we do and who we are. Sometimes when it feels like everything is coming apart, it can actually be a moment when everything comes together anew.
Ravel is what we do: we help you untangle the messy knots and find new ways forward.
Ravel is also who we are: human, complex, sometimes knotted and tangled ourselves, but using that as a visible strength instead of a secret shame.
Why We’re Here
There's a particular kind of leader who keeps showing up to programs, courses, and conferences, and leaving with something they can't quite name. They learn more skills, build their network, attend interesting (and some not-so-interesting) lectures, adopt new models and strategies and still feel… empty. Still carrying the thing they came in with, a sense of lack or incompleteness. A gap between their lived reality and the competence and achievements that all the presenters, facilitators, and other leaders are projecting.
Ravel was built for that gap. Not to fix it, but to start from it. To ask what it means to lead from a place of genuine incompleteness, rather than performative competence. To take seriously the possibility that the most honest thing a leader can do is stop pretending the impossible is merely difficult, but actually is… impossible.
That's what our programs are designed to create space for.
What you won't find here is a framework that promises to improve your leadership based on learning new skills and ideas that will finally make it manageable. What you will find is that once you’re done pretending, it’s possible to find new ways forward… together.

Patrick Noonan, MBA - Director
I'm originally from Maine, USA, and now live on the island of Bømlo in western Norway with my family. I have a BA in Communications, an MBA, and a coaching certification — and over fifteen years of leadership experience across a range of industries and countries, including hospitality, events, logistics, and the non-profit sector.
I know what good leadership looks like. I've also experienced how vulnerable and lonely leaders can be, especially in small- and medium-sized organizations.
Ravel grew out of a simple realization: the most valuable moments in any program aren't the lectures or the frameworks. They're the moments of vulnerability that can happen between participants — honest conversations, shared frustrations, similar struggles.
I’ve built Ravel around that insight — and around the kind of support I was often looking for and struggled to find. Professional help that meets you where you are, connects you with people facing similar challenges, and doesn't require a corporate budget to access.
Patrick works in both English and Norwegian.
Øyvind Nord Nyvoll - Business Development Partner
Øyvind is a partner at Ravel, focused on sales and networking in the Norwegian market. He brings fifteen years of experience from direct sales, the fishing industry, and non-profit work — enough breadth to recognize what good leadership looks like no matter the sector.
If you're reaching out from the Norwegian side, there's a good chance Øyvind will be the one who gets in touch first.
Øyvind works in both English and Norwegian.
